Joy Kluver has been an avid reader and writer since childhood. She has written three DI Bernadette ‘Bernie’ Noel books – Last Seen, Broken Girls and Left For Dead. The series was shortlisted for Best New Kid on the Block (best new series) in the Dead Good Reader Awards 2022.

Published by Bookouture, her debut, Last Seen, was published on 26th March 2021, receiving outstanding reviews. The sequel, Broken Girls, was published 27th July 2021, and the third in the series, Left for Dead, came out 10th January 2022. Joy is also a book blogger, offering insights into other books and discussing various crime writing events. Click here to read her latest blogs now. She was additionally part of the First Monday Crime team, and if you attended any of their events it’s likely you ate one of her famous cookies! Previous online author events are still available to access on the First Monday Crime Facebook page.

Joy organises Murder in Merton, a collection of crime writing events across South West London. It includes workshops, author talks and interviews, and competitions, alongside many other events. Some of the events have been run in conjunction with Merton Libraries, Wimbledon Bookfest, and the Friends of the West Barnes Library. Outside of Murder in Merton, Joy has also organised and hosted several other author interviews at West Barnes Library, and took them online during the pandemic. These can be accessed on the Friends of West Barnes Library YouTube Channel.
